Joanne Cohen – Founder

joanne cohen

I first began my Yoga journey in 1993 at the Sivananda Vedanta Centre in Putney. I quickly became involved in the classes and workshops and embraced life at the centre with the residential disciples, where the essence of Yoga took its hold on me!

Having moved to North West London I met my mentor and teacher Tara Patel who shared her lifetime’s knowledge and philosophy of classical Hatha yoga. Moving from traditional into the dynamics of Hip-Hop Yoga renowned teacher Neil Patel, founder of Chi-Kri Yoga, has been my guide and teacher for 15 years. Over the years I have explored different styles and schools, seeking out classes wherever I have travelled around the world, to satisfy my Yoga ‘fix’ and to continue my journey as a student of Yoga.

So 25 years on, I present Empowering Yoga, which continues to evolve as I delve deeper into my practice to explore, experience, & understand the boundless possibilities to be happy, content & authentic.

The Yoga in Mejoanne_cohen

I believe Yoga has taught me to ‘experience’ and to be aware of the moment.

Many of us miss out on the simple pleasures of  experiencing the moment. We are too concerned about ways to improve it, wanting approval from someone we look up to, thinking about the next task on the list, or even feeling disappointed of choices made. What a waste! We could go through our entire life wishing things were different.

Independant Yoga Network IYNThat’s why I want to share my passion for yoga with you and teach you how it can help you become a happier, healthier, fitter and more peaceful person by integrating Yoga into your everyday lives.

Joanne RaphaYad Bioenergy TreatmentMy Treatment Clinic

As well as being a devoted Yogi, I run my own RaphaYad Bioenergy Treatment Clinic in Central London, working with clients to enhance their self healing process by way of  releasing energy blockages and enhancing cellular communication.  I have found that both Bioenergy and Yoga are very much entwined, both bringing awareness, focus, clarity, assertiveness, confidence and empowerment.

My sensitivity as a Bioenergy Practitioner allows me to pay attention to the needs of my students to enhance their healing and personal development.
