“Live quietly in the moment and see the beauty of all before you. The future will take care of itself……”

I’ve just read this book for the 2nd time. With engaging candour eloquence and wit Paramahansa Yogananda narrates the inspiring chronicle of his life – the experiences of his remarkable childhood encounters with many saints and sages during his youthful search throughout India for an illumined teacher ten years of training in the hermitage of a revered yoga master and the thirty years that he lived and taught in America.

It’s a wonderfully engaging read from the first page and totally nurturing for the soul.

Autobiography of a Yogi has inspired people, such as Steve Jobs, co-founder, chairman, and CEO of Apple Inc. Walter Isaacson, a biographer, records that Jobs “first read [it] as a teenager, then re-read [it] in India and had read [it] once a year ever since.”[20]

George Harrison, lead guitarist of The Beatles, received his first copy of Autobiography of a Yogi from Ravi Shankar in 1966 and “that was where his interest in Vedic culture and Indian-ness began.”[21]
